Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front surface of teeth, typically used to enhance a person’s smile by improving the color, shape, and alignment of the teeth. Veneers are commonly crafted from either porcelain or composite resin, with porcelain being the preferred choice due to its durability and stain-resistant qualities. Porcelain veneers offer a more natural look, as they mimic the light-reflecting properties of natural teeth, while composite veneers, although less expensive, are more prone to staining and may need replacement more frequently.

The process of getting veneers usually involves a consultation, where a dentist evaluates the suitability and discusses aesthetic goals with the patient. During the procedure, a small amount of tooth enamel is removed to make room for the veneers, after which an impression of the teeth is taken and sent to a dental lab. Once the custom veneers are created, they are bonded to the teeth with special cement.

Veneers can address a variety of dental concerns, including discolored, worn-down, chipped, or misaligned teeth. While they require similar care to natural teeth, regular brushing and flossing are essential for maintaining their longevity. With proper care, veneers can last between 10 to 15 years, offering patients a long-term solution to a radiant smile.
